August Days

Another month is coming to a close and what a month it’s been.  I’ve been one busy girl but loving every minute of it.  The past two weeks have been extra special because they were all about two of my favorite things, meeting amazing people and traveling.  Here’s a sneak into what I’ve been up to and what is to be blogged in the next week or so.

Two Saturdays ago, I got to photograph these three lovely ladies!  It was a photo shoot swap for head shots but I walked away with way more than just pictures. Three awesome new friends.  These girls are so talented and beautiful, both on the inside and out.

Last week, I spent a few days up in San Francisco attending a workshop that warmed my heart and helped me refine my goals for both my life and my business.  And no workshop would be complete without a photo shoot.  Trolleys in downtown SF?  Yes, please!

And then there was Chicago.  Oh, Chicago.  Matt and I went there for a belated anniversary trip this past week and it was a-maz-ing.  Truth be told, part of me didn’t want to leave.  Ever.  It has one of the prettiest skylines I’ve seen.

Happy Wednesday!

10 and 3

We started off as friends.  Good friends that grew into something more.  We both knew how we felt but were too shy to say it.  That is, until that night.  That night 10 years ago that set our lives down this path.  This path with you.  The path that turned my I and me’s into us and we.  Little did I know at the time that I had everything I ever wanted in a man standing right in front of me. You took that first step and our love story began.

Looking back, we were just kids.  Two kids crazy in love who knew we were supposed to be together.  And though life has thrown a lot at us over these 10 years, we didn’t budge.  Our commitment to each other was unbreakable and our love kept growing.  Maturing.  Rooting itself deeper and deeper in our hearts.

Three years ago, today, I married you.  My best friend.  The man whom I am still head over heels for.  I am eternally grateful for you and for God bringing you into my life.  It’s hard to imagine that I could love you anymore than I do today, but somehow, everyday I do.  My heart always finds more room.

I truly feel blessed.  For you and for our life together.  Life hasn’t always been easy but just like I said in our wedding vows, “Wherever this life takes us, I know we can face anything because we have each other.”  To my husband, my Matt, Happy Anniversary. Here’s to many more decades together filled with laughter, happiness and unending love.

Featured in Junebug Weddings: Las Vegas Photo Shoot

Back in February while attending WPPI, I had the pleasure of being a part of a wonderful photo shoot designed and styled by the talented Daniela Ferdico Faget of Bella Signature Design.  For all you Jasmine Star and creativeLIVE fans out there, she was the designer behind the LIVE wedding in Seattle last August.  When I heard earlier this year that Daniela was planning a photo shoot at WPPI, I immediately signed up because I knew it would be amazing.  And, it completely was.  I loved the styling, location and the dresses (oh.my.goodness) for this shoot.

And if you follow my page on Facebook, you may remember that back in May, this shoot was featured in Junebug Weddings.  I am so excited to be one of the photographer’s to have work from this shoot featured!  Seeing my name on a blog that I love and read daily is such an honor.  There were quite a few happy dances in our house that week.

The shoot was at the beautiful Springs Preserve located a few miles away from the Vegas Strip.  It was a stunning location and such fun to shoot in the desert. Here’s a peak into that wonderful morning in Vegas.

Happy Thursday!

Everything

Find me here, speak to me
I want to feel You, I need to hear You
You are the light that’s leading me
To the place where I find peace again

You are the strength that keeps me walking
You are the hope that keeps me trusting
You are the light to my soul
You are my purpose, You are everything

You calm the storms, and You give me rest
You hold me in Your hands, You won’t let me fall
You steal my heart, and You take my breath away

‘Cause You’re all I want, You’re all I need
You’re everything.  Everything.

Carli + Tyler: Ukiah Engagement

They met in the middle.  The middle of California.  Carli grew up in a small, Northern California town and Tyler grew up in a big, Southern California city.  Living separate lives hundreds of miles apart.  That is, until college.  They both had chosen to attend Cal Poly mid-state and it would become more than just their alma mater.  It would become the place where they would meet and fall in love.  They were friends first and years passed.  It was eventually through their mutual love of line dancing that they realized how much they cared and liked each other.  Those feelings grew into love.  Beautiful, lasting love.

This past Sunday, we headed up to Ukiah for their engagement session.  It was such an amazing location with an uber-sweet couple.  Not to mention Carli’s adorable and kind family that made this session extra special.  They are getting married next June and I am so honored to be a part of their wedding day.  Carli and Tyler, you guys are simply wonderful.  Getting the opportunity to meet couples like you is the reason why I love my job.  Best of luck with all the continued planning this year and I am so excited for your wedding in 11 months!  I’m already counting.  xoxo

This Mustang is no ordinary Mustang.  Not only has it been owned by Carli’s family for years, it was also where Carli’s dad proposed to her mom.

I’m just going to say what everyone is thinking.  Carli, you’re gorgeous!

Vineyards and pretty light…I could shoot here all the time!

Happy Thursday!
