  • Why, hello you!

I’m Kim. I’m a wedding photographer based in Northern California. Take a peek around to learn a little bit more about me and what I love to do. Weddings are my forte and when I’m not behind the camera documenting love, you can find me hanging out with my baby girl, husband and pup. For more information, head over to the website. My Thursday.

I had another blog post planned for today but life intervened.  In an exciting way.  But first, a little backstory.

As most of you know, I started my photography journey a long time ago.  But the official birth of my business was this past year.  I’ve come a long way and still have a long way to go.  I’m constantly learning, trying to better my skills and grow.  Because I never want to become stagnant.  I want to continually challenge myself.  Take hold of the opportunities that come my way.  Find inspiration in all different places.

And then yesterday, something big happened.  The opportunity to meet and have lunch with Jamie Delaine.  She’s a wedding photographer from BC, Canada and she’s simply amazing.  Her photographs are beautiful.  Her words are poetic.  Her faith and love for Jesus is inspiring.  She’s one of my absolute favorites and having the chance to meet her is something I couldn’t turn down.

How you might ask, did this come to be?

A little over a week ago, Thirst Relief International announced their mentor auction.  Accomplished photographers from all over donating their time (a mentor session) and people/other photographers (like me) were able to bid on them.  Most of them were for one on one sessions at the annual WPPI convention this February in Vegas.  The purpose:  To raise money and awareness for a cause that is so important.  Access to clean water.  Many people in our world don’t have this luxury and end up drinking contaminated water which can lead to disease and death.  The numbers are alarming, but the good news is that it can be changed.  Through proper water filtration, lives are saved.  All the money raised from these auctions went to helping this cause.

I knew I wanted to get involved.  A great cause with the opportunity to meet someone I admire like crazy.  I wanted this so badly, I can’t even begin to tell you.

Last night, the auction ended.  And I won.  It was one of those i’m.so.happy.that.i.can’t.stop.smiling moments. I was already extremely excited for WPPI in a few weeks and being able to meet her is the icing on the cake!
